Educational Q&A

The verse underscores dāna as a dharmic duty of the powerful: wealth is ethically validated when it is shared in ways that sustain life and honor worthy recipients, symbolized here by the gifting of milch cows and abundant valuables.

Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa makes a grand donation—counted in thousands and tens of thousands—specifically ten thousand milk-yielding cows from the Mathurā region, indicating a formal act of generosity within a larger ceremonial or diplomatic context.
