वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights mindful movement through the world: a great person advances with awareness of both sacred spaces (āyatanāni) and human achievements (harmyāṇi), suggesting respect for cultural and religious landscapes rather than a purely self-centered or exploitative journey.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the powerful hero (contextually Arjuna) passes beyond the Kaliṅga region and continues onward, viewing various lands, holy abodes/temples, and beautiful mansions as he travels.
