This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse; its function is to mark completion of a chapter and to situate the preceding material within the epic’s internal organization (Ādi Parva → Caitraratha section → Auvopākhyāna episode).
The narrator/editorial voice closes the chapter, stating that the 177th chapter dealing with the Auvopākhyāna, within the Caitraratha portion of the Ādi Parva, has concluded—preparing the reader for the next chapter or section.
