Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
ततो द्वादश वर्षाणि काननेषु वनेषु च । रेमे तस्मिन् गिरौ राजा तथैव सह भार्यया,वे उसी पर्वतके वनों और काननोंमें अपनी पत्नीके साथ उसी प्रकार बारह वर्षोंतक रमण करते रहे
tato dvādaśa varṣāṇi kānaneṣu vaneṣu ca | reme tasmin girau rājā tathaiva saha bhāryayā ||
ต่อมา พระราชาได้พำนักและเสวยความรื่นรมย์อยู่ในพนาลีและไพรพฤกษ์แห่งภูผานั้นร่วมกับพระชายา ดังเดิมตลอดสิบสองปี
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse highlights steadiness in a chosen mode of life: enduring a long period away from worldly power while maintaining restraint and harmony with one’s spouse. It implicitly values patience, simplicity, and constancy in conduct.
Vasiṣṭha narrates that the king remained on a particular mountain and spent twelve years in its forests and groves, living there contentedly together with his wife, continuing in the same manner as earlier.
