Educational Q&A

Prosperity and political power should be pursued under dharmic guidance: one who seeks personal welfare or sovereignty over the whole earth must submit to the counsel and discipline of a qualified purohita, implying that unchecked ambition needs ethical and ritual oversight.

A Gandharva delivers a didactic statement emphasizing the importance of heeding a priest’s instruction. The verse functions as counsel on governance and success, framing the purohita as a necessary guide for anyone aspiring to wealth or universal dominion.
