और्वोपाख्यानम्

वेदे षडड़े निरता: शुचय: सत्यवादिन: । धर्मात्मान: कृतात्मान: स्युर्न॒पाणां पुरोहिता:,जो छहों अंगोंसहित वेदके स्वाध्यायमें तत्पर, ईमानदार, सत्यवादी, धर्मात्मा और मनको वशमें रखनेवाले हों, ऐसे ही ब्राह्मण राजाओंके पुरोहित होने चाहिये

vede ṣaḍ-aṅge niratāḥ śucayaḥ satyavādinaḥ | dharmātmānaḥ kṛtātmānaḥ syur nṛpāṇāṃ purohitāḥ ||

พราหมณ์ผู้จะเป็นปุโรหิตของพระราชา พึงเป็นผู้ขวนขวายในพระเวทพร้อมด้วยเวทางค์ทั้งหก มีความบริสุทธิ์ ซื่อตรงกล่าวสัตย์ มีจิตตั้งมั่นในธรรม และสำรวมตน
