यस्तु स्यात्‌ कामवृत्तो5पि पार्थ ब्रह्मपुरस्कृत: । जयेन्नक्तंचरान्‌ सर्वान्‌ स पुरोहितधूर्गत:,किंतु कुन्तीकुमार! कामासक्त होनेपर भी यदि कोई पुरुष किसी ब्राह्मणको आगे करके चले तो वह समस्त निशाचरोंपर विजय पा सकता है; क्योंकि उस दशामें उसका सारा भार पुरोहितपर होता है

yastu syāt kāmavṛtto 'pi pārtha brahmapuraskṛtaḥ | jayen naktaṃcarān sarvān sa purohitadhūr-gataḥ ||

แต่โอ้ปารถะ แม้ผู้ใดจะถูกกามครอบงำ หากเขาออกเดินโดยให้พราหมณ์อยู่เบื้องหน้าเป็นผู้นำและผู้คุ้มครอง เขาย่อมพิชิตศัตรูผู้ท่องราตรีได้ทั้งหมด เพราะในครานั้นภาระแห่งกิจการทั้งมวลตกอยู่ที่ปุโรหิต
