असम्बाधा देवनदी स्वर्गसम्पादनी शुभा | कथमिच्छसि तां रोद्धुं नैष धर्म: सनातनः,ये कल्याणमयी देवनदी सब प्रकारकी विघ्न-बाधाओंसे रहित एवं स्वर्गलोककी प्राप्ति करानेवाली हैं। तुम उन्हीं गंगाजीपर किसलिये रोक लगाना चाहते हो? यह सनातन धर्म नहीं है

arjuna uvāca |

asambādhā devanadī svargasampādanī śubhā |

katham icchasi tāṁ roddhuṁ naiṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||

อรชุนกล่าวว่า “แม่น้ำทิพย์นี้ไร้สิ่งกีดขวาง เป็นมงคล และเป็นผู้ประทานการบรรลุสวรรค์ เหตุใดท่านจึงคิดจะกั้นนาง? การกระทำนั้นไม่สอดคล้องกับธรรมอันเป็นนิรันดร์”
