Educational Q&A

When a community is freed from terror and exploitation, gratitude and reverence naturally arise; the verse frames the deliverance as a superhuman act and directs the response toward worship and acknowledgment of higher order (daiva), reinforcing humility and thankfulness after protection is restored.

After Bakāsura has been slain, the townspeople—women, elders, and children—come to see the fallen rākṣasa. Astonished at the extraordinary feat, they collectively worship the gods, interpreting the event as a providential rescue.
