सुनृशंसमिदं कर्म तेषां क्रूरोपसंहितम् । कीर्तयस्व यथावृत्तं परं कौतूहलं मम,क्रूर कणिकके उपदेशसे किया हुआ कौरवोंका यह कर्म अत्यन्त निर्दयतापूर्ण था। आप उसका ठीक-ठीक वर्णन कीजिये। मुझे यह सब सुननेके लिये बड़ी उत्कण्ठा हो रही है
Janamejaya uvāca |
sunṛśaṁsam idaṁ karma teṣāṁ krūropasaṁhitam |
kīrtayasva yathāvṛttaṁ paraṁ kautūhalaṁ mama ||
ชนเมชัยตรัสว่า “การกระทำของพวกเขานั้นโหดเหี้ยมยิ่งนัก ร้อยเรียงด้วยความทารุณ จงเล่าให้ตรงตามที่เกิดขึ้นเถิด; ความใคร่รู้ของเราที่จะฟังเรื่องทั้งหมดนั้นแรงกล้ายิ่ง”
