वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights harmony and shared enjoyment among brothers in a natural, wholesome setting—an image of social cohesion and simple pleasures that later stands in contrast to the ethical breakdown and rivalry that the epic will unfold.
The speaker proposes that all the brothers go together to the Gaṅgā’s garden- and forest-adorned bank to engage in jalakrīḍā (bathing and water-sport), setting a scene of youthful recreation.
