Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)

प्रसह बन्धने बद्ध्वा प्रशासिष्ये वसुंधराम्‌ । एवं स निश्चयं पाप: कृत्वा दुर्योधनस्तदा । नित्यमेवान्तरप्रेक्षी भीमस्यासीन्महात्मन:,“इसलिये नगरोद्यानमें जब वह सो जाय, तब उसे उठाकर हमलोग गंगाजीमें फेंक दें। इसके बाद उसके छोटे भाई अर्जुन और बड़े भाई युधिष्ठिरको बलपूर्वक कैदमें डालकर मैं अकेला ही सारी पृथ्वीका शासन करूँगा।' ऐसा निश्चय करके पापी दुर्योधन महात्मा भीमसेनका अनिष्ट करनेके लिये सदा मौका ढूँढ़ता रहता था

prasaha bandhane baddhvā praśāsiṣye vasuṃdharām | evaṃ sa niścayaṃ pāpaḥ kṛtvā duryodhanas tadā | nityam evāntaraprekṣī bhīmasyāsīn mahātmanaḥ ||

“เราจักจับพวกเขามัดไว้ด้วยกำลังแล้วปกครองแผ่นดิน” ครั้นดุรโยธนะตั้งปณิธานอันชั่วช้านี้แล้ว นับแต่นั้นมาก็คอยสอดส่องหาโอกาสทำร้ายภีมผู้มีใจยิ่งใหญ่อยู่เสมอ
