Āstravidyā-Pradarśana: The Kuru Princes’ Public Demonstration of Arms (आस्त्रविद्या-प्रदर्शनम्)

वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमुक्‍त्वाब्रवीन्माद्री सकृच्चिन्तय दैवतम्‌ । तस्मात्‌ ते भवितापत्यमनुरूपमसंशयम्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! महाराज पाण्डुके यों कहनेपर कुन्तीने माद्रीसे कहा--“तुम एक बार किसी देवताका चिन्तन करो, उससे तुम्हें योग्य संतानकी प्राप्ति होगी, इसमें संशय नहीं है”

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: evam uktvābravīn Mādrīṃ sakṛc cintaya daivatam | tasmāt te bhavitāpatyam anurūpam asaṃśayam ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า ครั้นกล่าวดังนั้นแล้ว กุนตีจึงกล่าวแก่มาทรีว่า “เพียงครั้งเดียวเท่านั้น จงตั้งจิตระลึกและอัญเชิญเทพองค์หนึ่งเถิด จากนั้นเจ้าจักได้บุตรผู้เหมาะสมแก่ตนโดยแน่นอน—หาได้มีข้อสงสัยไม่”
