पाण्डोः श्राद्धं, सत्यवत्याः वनगमनम्, बाल्यस्पर्धा च

श्रुत्वा भरतसिंहस्य विविधा: करुणा गिर: । भीममार्तस्वरं कृत्वा हाहेति परिचुक्रुशु:,भरतसिंह पाण्डुकी यह करुणायुक्त चित्र-विचित्र वाणी सुनकर उनके अनुचर और सेवक सभी हाय-हाय करके भयंकर आर्तनाद करने लगे

śrutvā bharatasiṃhasya vividhāḥ karuṇā giraḥ | bhīmam ārtasvaraṃ kṛtvā hāheti paricukruśuḥ ||

ครั้นได้ยินถ้อยคำอันหลากหลายและชุ่มด้วยความโศกของสิงห์แห่งวงศ์ภารตะนั้น เหล่าผู้ติดตามและข้ารับใช้ก็เปล่งเสียงคร่ำครวญอันน่าสะพรึง ร้องว่า “อนิจจา! อนิจจา!” แล้วร่ำไห้ระงม
