Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes dharmic self-mastery: restraining the senses, renouncing desire-based pleasures, and embracing tapas as a disciplined means to attain a higher spiritual goal.

A resolve is being voiced (reported by Vaiśampāyana): two women declare that they will abandon sensual enjoyment, control their senses, and perform severe austerities with the aim of reaching their husband’s realm.
