Educational Q&A

The verse highlights steadfast resolve (viniścaya) and the ethical tension between renunciation of power and the social duty of continuing lineage; it presents a disciplined choice-making where even personal aims like progeny are approached through a deliberate vow rather than impulse.

Gāḍeya addresses assembled kings, reminding them he has already given up royal rule, and declares that he is now taking a decisive step specifically oriented toward obtaining offspring—signaling a new commitment after earlier renunciation.
