न चाप्यहं वृथा भूयो दारान्‌ कर्तुमिहोत्सहे । संतानस्यथाविनाशाय कामये भद्रमस्तु ते,“मैं पुनः व्यर्थ विवाह नहीं करना चाहता; किंतु हमारी वंशपरम्पराका लोप न हो, इसीके लिये मुझे पुनः पत्नीकी कामना हुई है। तुम्हारा कल्याण हो

na cāpy ahaṁ vṛthā bhūyo dārān kartum ihotsahe | saṁtānasyātha vināśāya kāmaye bhadram astu te ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ข้าพเจ้าไม่ปรารถนาจะอภิเษกอีกโดยไร้ความหมาย แต่เพื่อมิให้สายสกุลและเชื้อสายของเราขาดสูญ ข้าพเจ้าจึงปรารถนาจะมีชายาอีกครั้งหนึ่ง ขอความสวัสดีจงมีแก่เจ้า”
