तस्य तद्‌ दुष्करं कर्म प्रशशंसुर्नराधिपा: । समेताश्न पृथक्‌ चैव भीष्मोड्यमिति चाब्रुवन्‌,उनके इस दुष्कर कर्मकी सब राजालोग एकत्र होकर और अलग-अलग भी प्रशंसा करने लगे। सबने एक स्वरसे कहा, “यह राजकुमार वास्तवमें भीष्म है”

tasya tad duṣkaraṃ karma praśaśaṃsur narādhipāḥ | sametāś ca pṛthak caiva bhīṣmo ’yam iti cābruvan ||

เมื่อเห็นการกระทำอันยากยิ่งของเขา เหล่ากษัตริย์ต่างสรรเสริญทั้งโดยพร้อมเพรียงและเป็นรายบุคคล แล้วกล่าวเป็นเสียงเดียวกันว่า “เจ้าชายผู้นี้แล คือภีษมะโดยแท้”
