अनुक्रमणिकाध्यायः (Anukramaṇikā Adhyāya) — Invocation, Narrator Frame, and Textual Scope

युगस्यादौ निमित्तं तन्‍्महद्दिव्यं प्रचक्षते । यस्मिन्‌ संश्रूयते सत्यं ज्योतिर्त्रह्या सनातनम्‌,ब्रह्मकल्पके आदिमें उसी महान्‌ एवं दिव्य अण्डको चार प्रकारके प्राणिसमुदायका कारण कहा जाता है। जिसमें सत्यस्वरूप ज्योतिर्मय सनातन ब्रह्म अन्तर्यामीरूपसे प्रविष्ट हुआ है, ऐसा श्रुति वर्णन करती हैः

yugasyādau nimittaṃ tan mahad divyaṃ pracakṣate | yasmin saṃśrūyate satyaṃ jyotir brahma sanātanam |

เมื่อยูกะเริ่มต้น คติสืบทอดประกาศว่าเอนทิตีอันยิ่งใหญ่และทิพย์นั้นเป็นเหตุปฐมแห่งการบังเกิด. และศรุติกล่าวว่า ภายในนั้นมีพรหมันนิรันดร์ ผู้เป็นแสงสว่างและเป็นสัจจะโดยแท้ สถิตอยู่ในฐานะอันตรียามิน (ผู้สถิตภายใน).
