FAQs

It codifies core upacāras of Liṅga-pūjā—pādya, ācamanīya, arghya—followed by abhiṣeka with sanctified substances, expressing reverence to Pati (Śiva) and purifying the pashu (devotee) from pasha (bondage) through disciplined ritual devotion.

By addressing Śiva as Rudra and Śambhu, it presents Him as both the awe-inspiring remover of impurity (Rudra) and the auspicious bestower of grace (Śambhu), the supreme Pati who receives worship through the Liṅga as a concrete focus for transcendent Shiva-tattva.

Abhiṣeka (ritual bathing) of the Liṅga with divya-toya (sanctified water), ghee, and milk—supported by preparatory purification (ācamanam)—a bhakti-centered discipline aligned with Shaiva pūjā-krama and conducive to Pāśupata-oriented inner purification.
