Sūta (narrator) conveying the Kurma Purana’s dharma-instructions
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: vira
Indirectly: it teaches disciplined reverence (niyama) in worship, which purifies conduct and supports inner clarity needed for realizing the Atman, even though the verse itself focuses on external ritual protocol.
It highlights yogic discipline through right conduct—bodily restraint and ritual mindfulness—supporting śauca (purity) and niyama (observance). Such regulated behavior is presented in the Purana as a foundation for higher sādhana, including Shaiva–Vaishnava integrated devotion.
It does not mention Shiva–Vishnu explicitly; its takeaway is broader: correct, non-confused dharma in worship (devas and pitṛs) is part of the Purana’s integrated path where ritual order supports devotion and knowledge across sectarian forms.
