Dakṣa-yajña-bhaṅgaḥ — Dadhīci’s Teaching and the Destruction of Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
इत्युक्त्वा यज्ञशालां तां ददाह गणपुङ्गवः / गणेश्वराश्च संक्रुद्धा यूपानुत्पाट्य चिक्षिपुः
ityuktvā yajñaśālāṃ tāṃ dadāha gaṇapuṅgavaḥ / gaṇeśvarāśca saṃkruddhā yūpānutpāṭya cikṣipuḥ
ครั้นกล่าวดังนี้แล้ว ผู้เป็นยอดแห่งคณะคณาของพระศิวะได้เผาโรงยัญนั้นให้ลุกไหม้; เหล่าคณีศวรผู้กริ้วได้ถอนเสายูปะแล้วขว้างทิ้งไปไกล

No specific technique is taught in this verse; its practical teaching is preparatory—purifying intent. In the Kurma Purana’s Shaiva-Pāśupata frame, inner discipline (niyama, devotion to Īśvara, self-restraint) must govern yajña; otherwise ritual becomes hollow and vulnerable to downfall.
By presenting Śiva’s gaṇas as enforcers of cosmic and ethical order, the text supports the Purana’s broader synthesis: divine authority is one, and sectarian ritual pride is corrected so devotion and dharma align with the Supreme (whether named Śiva or Viṣṇu).
