The Murder of Satrājit and the Recovery of the Syamantaka Jewel
tata āha balo nūnaṁ sa maṇiḥ śatadhanvanā kasmiṁścit puruṣe nyastas tam anveṣa puraṁ vraja
In this verse, Balarāma concludes the Syamantaka jewel was likely entrusted by Śatadhanvā to another person, and he directs that person be searched for in the city.
Because Śatadhanvā himself was not holding the jewel; Balarāma infers it was handed to someone else, so the search must extend into the city to find the custodian.
