Sukta 2

इ॒मा नारी॑रविध॒वाः सु॒पत्नी॒राञ्ज॑नेन स॒र्पिषा॒ सं स्पृ॑शन्ताम्। अ॒न॒श्रवो॑ अनमी॒वाः सु॒रत्ना॒ आ रो॑हन्तु॒ जन॑यो॒ योनि॒मग्रे॑

imā́ nā́rīr avídhavāḥ supátnīr ā́ñjanena sarpíṣā sáṁ spṛśantām | anáśravo anamīvā́ḥ surátnā ā́ rohantu jánayo yónim ágre

Let these women—unwidowed, good wives—touch themselves with collyrium and with ghee. Without ill report, without disease, rich in good treasure, let the wives ascend unto the womb, in the first place.

ขอให้สตรีเหล่านี้—ผู้มิได้เป็นหม้าย ผู้เป็นภรรยาดี—เจิมตนด้วยอัญชนะ (คอลลิเรียม) และด้วยเนยใส (สर्पิษ/ฆี) เถิด ขอให้เหล่าภรรยาไร้คำครหา ไร้โรคาพาธ มั่งคั่งด้วยรัตนะอันดี จงก้าวขึ้นสู่ครรภ์เป็นอันดับแรก
