FAQs

It prescribes a dhvaja-pūjā sequence: worship the flag’s eight presiding deities direction-wise (starting from the east) and invoke them with specific bīja-mantras, exemplified by “oṃ kauṃ kumudāya namaḥ.”

Beyond mythology, it gives operational temple-ritual detail—directional worship, deity-grouping (aṣṭa-devatāḥ), and mantra-usage—showing the Agni Purāṇa as a practical manual for consecration and festival procedures.

Correct mantra-led worship of the dhvaja’s presiding powers is treated as a sanctifying act that stabilizes the rite, invites protective forces, and is traditionally understood to generate merit (puṇya) through orderly, rule-based devotion.
