Application: When uncertainty or lapse occurs, apply the specified corrective count (eight) and re-center the rite by heart-invocation before continuing.

FAQs

It prescribes a corrective ritual: offering eight fire-oblations (aṣṭāhutī) and using a protective ‘astra’ mantra with heart-invocation (hṛd-āvāhana) of Hṛṣīkeśa before completing pūjā and tarpaṇa.

It exemplifies the text’s manual-like coverage of applied ritual technology—specific counts of oblations, mantra-formulas (bīja + phaṭ), and procedural steps (invocation, worship, libations), integrating Purāṇic theology with practical liturgy.

The eight oblations and protective mantra act as a purification and fault-averting measure, aiming to neutralize ritual lapses and restore the efficacy and merit of worship through Viṣṇu-centered invocation.
