FAQs

It specifies a set of prescribed dāna/upacāra items—tāmbūla, mirror, rocanā pigment, seat, sandals, vessel, yoga-strap, and parasol—to be offered in the next stage of a ritual sequence.

By cataloging concrete, practical ritual requisites (honor-gifts and worship accessories), it functions like a procedural manual—one of the many domains (dharma, pūjā, dāna) that the Agni Purana systematizes alongside other sciences.

Offering such honorific and auspicious items is treated as dharmic dāna that supports ritual completeness, cultivates purity and reverence, and is traditionally associated with accruing religious merit (puṇya).
