Related Themes: Agni Purana ch. 63 Sudarśana-prayogas (immediately following)
It teaches a Sudarśana-cakra mantra-prayoga: recitation plus worship (abhyarcana) of the discus to (1) break hostile mantras, (2) repel/consume bhūta-type afflictions, and (3) gain battlefield efficacy against enemies.
Alongside theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied ritual technology—protective mantras, weapon-worship, and practical prayogas for real-world contexts like war—showing its coverage of both spiritual and pragmatic disciplines.
By invoking Sudarśana as a dharmic protector, the rite is framed as purification and protection—subduing harmful forces (internal and external) while aligning the practitioner with divine order for righteous defense.
