इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे पुरुषलक्षणं नाम द्विचत्वारिंशदधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः अथ त्रिचत्वारिंशदधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः स्त्रीलक्षणं समुद्र उवाच शस्ता स्त्री चारुसर्वाङ्गी मत्तमातङ्गगामिनी गुरूरुजघना या च मत्तपारावतेक्षणा
ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe puruṣalakṣaṇaṃ nāma dvicatvāriṃśadadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ atha tricatvāriṃśadadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ strīlakṣaṇaṃ samudra uvāca śastā strī cārusarvāṅgī mattamātaṅgagāminī gurūrujaghanā yā ca mattapārāvatekṣaṇā
ดังนี้ ในอัคนีมหาปุราณะ บทที่ 242 ชื่อว่า “ปุรุษลักษณะ” ได้สิ้นสุดลงแล้ว บัดนี้เริ่มบทที่ 243 ชื่อว่า “สตรีลักษณะ” สมุทรกล่าวว่า “สตรีที่น่าสรรเสริญ คือผู้มีอวัยวะงามทุกส่วน เดินดุจนางช้างเมามัน มีต้นขาและสะโพกอวบหนัก และมีดวงตาดุจนกพิราบเมามัน”
