FAQs

No ritual or technical vidyā is taught here; the verse functions as Itihāsa-saṅgraha, summarizing the Pandavas’ incognito entry into Virāṭa’s kingdom and their assumed roles.

By compressing major Itihāsa material (the Mahābhārata) into brief, reference-like verses, the Agni Purāṇa serves as a compendium that preserves narrative history alongside ritual, polity, medicine, and other disciplines.

The episode highlights dharma under adversity—self-restraint, humility, and strategic concealment—presenting endurance and disciplined conduct as meritorious qualities that protect one’s righteous purpose.
