मतङ्ग उवाच । प्रसन्नोऽयं मम सुतः सर्वशास्त्रविशारदः । गृह्णाम्यर्जुनकीं कन्यां त्वत्सुतां व्याधसत्तम ॥ ८.१० ॥

mataṅga uvāca | prasanno 'yaṁ mama sutaḥ sarvaśāstraviśāradaḥ | gṛhṇāmy arjunakīṁ kanyāṁ tvatsutāṁ vyādhasattama || 8.10 ||

మతంగుడు అన్నాడు—“నా కుమారుడు ప్రసన్నుడు సమస్త శాస్త్రాలలో నిపుణుడు. కనుక, ఓ వ్యాధశ్రేష్ఠా, నీ కుమార్తె ఆర్జ్జునకీని (అతనికి) వధువుగా నేను స్వీకరిస్తున్నాను।”
