Nārāyaṇa as the Sacrificial Principle, Analysis of the Three Guṇas, and the Account of Delusion-Doctrines

न तस्मात् परतो देवो भविता न भविष्यति । यो विष्णुः स स्वयं ब्रह्मा यो ब्रह्मा सोऽहमेव च ॥ ७०.२७ ॥

FAQs

It exemplifies a common Purāṇic theological strategy: asserting the supremacy of a chosen deity while also equating major divine figures (here, Viṣṇu and Brahmā), reflecting sectarian yet integrative tendencies in early medieval Sanskrit literature.

No geographic location is named in this verse; its focus is theological identity rather than sacred geography.

Rather than a direct moral rule, the verse conveys a philosophical instruction: to understand ultimate divinity as singular and unsurpassed, expressed through multiple revered divine forms.
