Ritual Procedure for the Kūrma Dvādaśī Observance
तं रत्नगर्भं तु पुरेव कृत्वा स्वशक्तितो हेममयं तु देवम् । समन्दरं कूर्मरूपेण कृत्वा संस्थाप्य ताम्रे घृतपूर्णपात्रे । पूर्णघटस्योपरि संनिवेश्य श्वो ब्राह्मणायैवमेवं तु दद्यात् ॥ ४०.६ ॥
taṁ ratnagarbhaṁ tu pureva kṛtvā svaśaktito hemamayaṁ tu devam | samandaraṁ kūrmarūpeṇa kṛtvā saṁsthāpya tāmre ghṛtapūrṇapātre | pūrṇaghaṭasyopari saṁniveśya śvo brāhmaṇāyaivamevaṁ tu dadyāt || 40.6 ||
ముందుగా ‘రత్నగర్భ’ (రత్నాలతో నిండిన నైవేద్యము) సిద్ధం చేసి, తన శక్తి మేరకు స్వర్ణమయ దేవప్రతిమను తయారు చేయాలి. తరువాత కూర్మరూపంగా సముద్రప్రతిరూపాన్ని చేసి, ఘృతంతో నిండిన తామ్రపాత్రలో స్థాపించాలి. దానిని పూర్ణజలఘటంపై ఉంచి, మరునాడు ఇదే విధంగా బ్రాహ్మణునికి దానం చేయాలి.
