FAQs

It reflects a Purāṇic tendency to systematize cosmological and theological concepts through enumerations—here, a scheme of twelve luminous forms—while integrating solar imagery with a Vaiṣṇava interpretive frame.

No specific geographic location is named in this verse; the focus is cosmological/theological (Mārtaṇḍa as a world-renowned solar epithet).

The verse does not present a direct ethical injunction; its philosophical instruction is classificatory and theological—identifying a solar radiance (tejas) as ultimately grounded in the essence (ātman) of Nārāyaṇa.
