Varaha Purana 128.47 — Adhyaya 128, Shloka 47

Rites for the comb, collyrium, and mirror; initiations for the four social orders; and the Gaṇāntikā vow/insignia

तस्य धर्मो न विद्येत दीक्षा तस्य महाफला ॥ यस्तु गृह्णाति सुश्रोणि मन्त्रपूतां गणान्तिकाम्

tasya dharmo na vidyeta dīkṣā tasya mahāphalā || yas tu gṛhṇāti suśroṇi mantrapūtāṃ gaṇāntikām

అతనికి ధర్మం ఉండదు; అయినా అతని దీక్షను (వ్యతిరేకంగా) ‘మహాఫలదాయకం’ అని అంటారు. కానీ ఓ సుశ్రోణీ! మంత్రంతో పవిత్రమైన గణాంతికాను గ్రహించేవాడే సమ్యక్.
