नैव तस्य परोलोको नायं लोको दुरात्मनः । अथ चेत्प्रतिगृह्णाति ब्राह्मणो वृत्तिदुर्बलः । दशांशमर्जिताद्दद्यादेवं तत्र न हीयते
naiva tasya paroloko nāyaṃ loko durātmanaḥ | atha cetpratigṛhṇāti brāhmaṇo vṛttidurbalaḥ | daśāṃśamarjitāddadyādevaṃ tatra na hīyate
ఆ దురాత్మునికి పరలోకమూ లేదు, ఈ లోకమూ నిజమైన శుభాన్ని ఇవ్వదు. అయితే జీవికలో బలహీనుడైన బ్రాహ్మణుడు దానం స్వీకరించవలసి వస్తే, సంపాదనలో పదవ భాగాన్ని దానంగా ఇవ్వాలి; అలా చేస్తే ఆ తీర్థంలో అతనికి ధర్మహాని కలగదు.

Scene: At Prabhāsa, a humble brāhmaṇa with sparse belongings accepts alms only out of necessity, then offers a measured tenth into a dāna-vessel before a shrine, while a darker figure symbolizes the ‘durātmā’ who clings to gain and loses both worlds.
