भरतोनाम राजाऽभूदाग्नीध्रः प्रथितः क्षितौ । यस्येदं भारतं वर्षं नाम्ना लोकेषु गीयते
bharatonāma rājā'bhūdāgnīdhraḥ prathitaḥ kṣitau | yasyedaṃ bhārataṃ varṣaṃ nāmnā lokeṣu gīyate
భూమిపై ఆగ్నీధ్ర వంశంలో భరతుడు అనే ప్రసిద్ధ రాజు ఉండెను; అతని పేరుతోనే ఈ దేశము లోకములలో ‘భారతవర్షము’ అని కీర్తింపబడుచున్నది.
