श्रीरुद्र उवाच । साधुपृष्टं महाबाहो कारणं तस्य वच्म्यहम् । हयग्रीवस्य कृष्णस्य शृणुष्वे काग्रमानसः
śrīrudra uvāca | sādhupṛṣṭaṃ mahābāho kāraṇaṃ tasya vacmyaham | hayagrīvasya kṛṣṇasya śṛṇuṣve kāgramānasaḥ
శ్రీరుద్రుడు పలికెను—ఓ మహాబాహో, నీవు శుభప్రశ్న అడిగితివి; దాని కారణాన్ని నేను చెప్పుదును. హయగ్రీవరూపుడైన కృష్ణుని విషయమును ఏకాగ్రమనసుతో వినుము।
