Māṇḍavya
Tirtha: Revā (Narmadā) snāna-dharma context
Type: river
Listener: dvija audience (implicit)
Scene: Joyful divine ascent motif: disciplined pilgrims bathing at dawn, offering respects to brāhmaṇas and devas; above, radiant devaloka where such dharma-abiding souls dwell happily.
Purity, devotion, self-mastery, and compassion uplift the soul and are praised as causes for heavenly attainment.
The virtue of snāna is praised generally; within Revā Khaṇḍa this resonates with the sanctity of the Revā/Narmadā bathing tradition.
Snāna (sacred bathing) is explicitly commended; devotion and ethical restraints are presented as complementary observances.
