FAQs

It teaches that devotion to Shiva must be joined with śuddhi (purity) and niyama (right order): disciplined preparation before the Liṅga refines the mind, making worship a fit offering to Pati (Shiva) and a means toward liberation.

The verse describes practical steps done in front of the Shiva Liṅga—sprinkling and arranging the kalaśas—showing Saguna worship where Shiva is approached through a sanctified form, and where outer order supports inner reverence and one-pointed bhakti.

It suggests niṣeka (purificatory sprinkling) and the krama (sequence) of setting up kalaśas for abhiṣeka; while doing so, the devotee may steadily repeat the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to keep attention fixed on Shiva.
