शिष्यं शिरसि संताड्य सूत्रं देहे यथाक्रमम् । शांत्यतीतपदे सूत्रं लाञ्छयेन्मंत्रमुच्चरन्

Transliteration

śiṣyaṃ śirasi saṃtāḍya sūtraṃ dehe yathākramam | śāṃtyatītapade sūtraṃ lāñchayenmaṃtramuccaran

Translation

ఆచార్యుడు శిష్యుని శిరస్సును స్పర్శించి, క్రమంగా అతని దేహంపై యజ్ఞోపవీతాన్ని ధరింపజేయాలి. మంత్రోచ్చారణతో ‘శాంత్యతీత’ అనే స్థానంలో సూత్రాన్ని గుర్తించి బిగించాలి—ఇది శివకృపచేత బంధనాతీత గమనానికి సూచకం.
