विष्णुरुवाच । भो भो दधीच विप्रर्षे भवार्चनरताव्यय । वरमेकं वृणे त्वत्तस्तद्भवान् दातुमर्हति
viṣṇuruvāca | bho bho dadhīca viprarṣe bhavārcanaratāvyaya | varamekaṃ vṛṇe tvattastadbhavān dātumarhati
విష్ణువు పలికెను—ఓ దధీచి విప్రర్షీ! భవుడైన శివుని ఆరాధనలో అచలంగా రతుడవైన నీవు; నీ నుండి నేను ఒక వరము కోరుచున్నాను, దయచేసి దానిని ప్రసాదించుము।
