Nārada
Tattva Level: pashu
Jyotirlinga: Viśvanātha
Sthala Purana: Nārada requests the ‘Śiva–Śivā-caritra’ and the ācāra arising from it; such kathā-śravaṇa is paradigmatic of Kāśī’s Viśvanātha milieu where liberation is linked with hearing/uttering Śiva’s name and teachings (the verse itself does not specify Kāśī).
Significance: Śiva-kathā-śravaṇa and dharma-ācāra as means to purification and eligibility for grace; Kāśī symbolizes jñāna and mokṣa-oriented devotion.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It frames the Shiva–Satī narrative not as mere story, but as a source of ācāra (right conduct) and inner discipline that leads the seeker toward Śiva as Pati—the liberating Lord.
By requesting “Śiva’s account” along with the practices born from it, the verse points to Saguna devotion expressed through prescribed conduct—typically including reverence to Śiva’s forms and worship-methods that culminate in steadiness of bhakti.
The verse emphasizes following ācāra (observances) derived from Śiva’s teachings—practically expressed in Shaiva life through disciplined devotion such as mantra-japa (notably the Panchākṣarī) and purity-oriented observances aligned with Śiva-bhakti.
