यस्ते मदो वरेण्यो य इन्द्र वृत्रहन्तमः । य आददिः स्वर्नृभिर्यः पृतनासु दुष्टरः ॥
Transliteration
yás te mádo váreṇyo yá índra vṛtrahán-tamaḥ | yá ādadíḥ svàr nṛ́bhir yáḥ pṛ́tanāsu dúṣṭaraḥ ||
Translation
ఓ ఇంద్రా, వృత్రహన్! నీ మద (ఉత్సాహ-ఆనందం) అత్యంత వరణీయమైనది; అవరోధ-వధలో నీవే పరమశ్రేష్ఠుడు. నరశక్తులతో కలిసి నీవు స్వః (స్వర్గ-ప్రకాశం) ను స్వీకరించావు; యుద్ధాలలో నీవు దుస్తర (దాటలేనివాడు/అజేయుడు)—ఆ విజయబలాన్ని మా లోపల క్రియాశీలం చేయి॥
