Sukta 4.17
भिनद्गिरिं शवसा वज्रमिष्णन्नाविष्कृण्वानः सहसान ओजः । वधीद्वृत्रं वज्रेण मन्दसानः सरन्नापो जवसा हतवृष्णीः ॥
bhinád giríṃ śávasā vájram iṣṇánnā́viṣkṛṇvānáḥ sahasāná ójaḥ | vadhīd vṛtráṃ vájreṇa mandasānáḥ sárann ā́po jávasā hatá-vṛṣṇīḥ ||
అతడు తన పరాక్రమ బలంతో గిరి (అవరోధక పర్వతం) ను ఛేదించాడు, వజ్రాన్ని విసిరుతూ; విజయ ఓజస్సుతో దాగినదాన్ని ప్రకటించాడు. సోమ-ఉన్మాదంలో వజ్రంతో వృత్రుణ్ణి వధించాడు; ఆపై ఆపః (జలాలు) వేగంగా ప్రవహించాయి—వాటిని ఆపిన శక్తి దెబ్బతిని కూలింది.
