प्रति घोराणामेतानामयासां मरुतां शृण्व आयतामुपब्दिः । ये मर्त्यं पृतनायन्तमूमैॠणावानं न पतयन्त सर्गैः ॥
práti ghorā́ṇām étānām ayā́sāṃ marútāṃ śṛṇva āyatā́m upabdíḥ | yé mártyaṃ pṛtanāyántaṃ ū́maiḥ ṛṇavā́naṃ ná patáyanta sárgaiḥ ||
ఈ భయంకరమైన, అయాస (అలసటలేని) మరుతుల దూసుకొచ్చే గర్జనను ప్రతిస్పందనగా వినండి—వారి సమీపించే ఉపధ్వని. యుద్ధంలో పోరాడే మర్త్యుణ్ని వారు తమ వేగవంతమైన దూకుడులతో పడనివ్వరు; బదులుగా అతన్ని మోసి దాటిస్తారు—దుర్బలత-ఋణంలో బంధింపబడినవాడు బలத்தின் ముందుకు సాగే ప్రవాహంలో విముక్తుడగుటకు.
