Sarga 75: Bharata and Kausalya—Reproach, Oaths, and Reconciliation
āgataḥ krūrakāryāyāḥ kaikeyyā bharatas sutaḥ | tam ahaṃ draṣṭum icchāmi bharataṃ dīrghadarśinam ||
Bharata, the far-sighted son of Kaikeyi of cruel deeds has come and I wish to see him.
Even amid betrayal and suffering, Kausalyā seeks direct encounter rather than acting on rumor—an implicit commitment to fairness and discernment (dharma through measured judgment).
In the palace after the exile crisis, Kausalyā learns that Bharata has returned to Ayodhyā and expresses her desire to see him.
Bharata is characterized as dīrghadarśin (prudent/foreseeing), highlighting his capacity for righteous, thoughtful decision-making.
