चित्रकूटगमनम् तथा पर्णशालाप्रवेशः
Arrival at Chitrakuta and Establishing the Leaf-Hut
मुनयश्च महात्मानो वसन्त्यस्मि शिलोच्चये।अयं वासो भवेत्तावदत्र सौम्य रमेमहि।।।।
munayaś ca mahātmāno vasanty asmin śiloccaye | ayaṁ vāso bhavet tāvad atra saumya ramemahi ||
ఈ శిలామయ శిఖరంపై మహాత్మ మునులు నివసిస్తున్నారు। హే సౌమ్యా! ఇప్పటికి ఇదే మన నివాసమగుగాక; ఇక్కడే మనము సంతోషంగా నివసిద్దాం।
Thus Rama, Sita and Lakshmana approached the hermitage of sage Valmiki and paid obeisance to him with folded hands.
Dharma is expressed as honoring holy company and adopting contentment. By choosing a place inhabited by sages, Rama aligns his exile with purity, restraint, and spiritual discipline.
Rama proposes that they stay at the mountain where great sages live, making it their residence for the present.
