रामदर्शनार्थं दारानयनम्
The Queens Summoned; Rama’s Leave-Taking and Dasaratha’s Collapse
इयं सराष्ट्रा सजना धनधान्यसमाकुला।मया विसृष्टा वसुधा भरताय प्रदीयताम्।।।।
iyaṃ sarāṣṭrā sajanā dhanadhānyasamākulā |
mayā visṛṣṭā vasudhā bharatāya pradīyatām ||
ఈ భూమి—రాజ్యంతో కూడి, ప్రజలతో కూడి, ధన-ధాన్యసమృద్ధిగా—నేను త్యజించితిని; కనుక ఇది భరతునికే సమర్పింపబడుగాక।
The kingdom abdicated by me with all its people, its wealth and foodgrains may be bestowed on Bharata.
Dharma here is non-attachment and orderly succession: Rāma relinquishes power to preserve social stability and uphold the pledged arrangement.
Rāma states that he has renounced the kingdom and requests that it be formally bestowed upon Bharata.
Rāma’s detachment from sovereignty and his concern for political and social order.
