O son, by all means, do not go now, today, tonight! Give me, at least, one day more to see (by with) you to my satisfaction.
The verse highlights the human cost within dharma: while vows and truth must be upheld, compassion and relational duty surface as Daśaratha pleads for one last day of closeness.
On the verge of Rāma’s departure to the forest, Daśaratha begs him to delay leaving for one night/day.
Daśaratha’s tenderness and paternal attachment—an emotional sincerity that coexists with the harsh demands of truth-bound duty.
